Your "One-Stop Shop" for finding information regarding services in Broward County available for seniors, persons with severe and persistent mental illness, ages 18 and over, their families, and caregivers.

Who We Are

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is a nonprofit organization serving Broward County's senior residents, age 60 or older. There are currently over 412,750 year-round Broward seniors. The ADRC is administered by the Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Inc.

What We Do

The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Broward County plans, develops, coordinates, and evaluates programs; funds services; and is the prime advocate for residents of Broward County, Florida, 60 years of age or older. We are your one-stop source of information regarding services in Broward County, Florida, for seniors, persons with severe and persistent mental illness, ages 18 and over, their families, and caregivers.

Who Is Eligible for Our Services

Participants must be 60 years of age or older. Alzheimer Projects are not age specific but require a medical diagnosis.Waiting lists presently exist for some services.

How We Are Funded

All programs are funded by the following through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County: Titles III-B, III-C, III-D, III-E, V, and VII of the Reauthorized Older Americans Act; Florida's Community Care for the Elderly and Home Care for the Elderly Acts; Alzheimer's Disease Initiative Legislation; Medicaid; and Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly. Matching funds are contributed by Broward County Government and local municipalities.

Recipients of Federally-funded services are given the opportunity to donate, within their means, for the programs. Clients in State-funded Community Care for the Elderly and Alzheimer's Disease Initiative Programs are assessed co-payments based on a sliding scale.

Donations are warmly accepted, and your donation to the Aging and Disability Center does make a difference, helping us to fund the many varied services we provide to Broward County Elders.

This Program provides YOU with a "one-stop shop" for finding information regarding services in Broward County available for seniors, persons with severe and persistent mental illness, their families, and caregivers. It is the official Help Line for Broward County.

Trained Information and Referral Specialists are ready to listen to your concerns and provide you with information for a variety of senior service providers, including publicly funded and private pay services. Our staff can assist you in English, Spanish, and Creole.

Our Information and Referral Services are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
